Using the Heat Exchanger model in PICLES, conduct step input experiments to determine the response of the system. Initially the exchanger is at steady state and the cooling water rate is 20 gallons/minute and the exit temperature is 140°C.

In the step experiment, raise the cooling water flow rate by 10%. Determine the process gain and overall time constant. Is there any dead time ? If so, what is the dead time ?
